Before Xbox launched their newest console in 2020, they wanted understand how to drive users using non-branded search terms. I conducted a competitor analysis and keyword research to see what terms were driving traffic. By using non-branded keywords like “next-gen console” and “next gen gaming” the Xbox Series X page saw a 50% increase in branded keyword rankings and 65% increase in non-branded keyword rankings.
